PowerPoint on Steroids in the Online World: Making Engaging Literacy Activities for Students with Significant Disabilities, Including Cortical Vision Impairment

In an online world, onscreen materials and visuals need to be engaging, clear and instructive. PowerPoint is a wonderful tool of educators to create such materials. PowerPoint can be used to transform in person class materials into online representations. This webinar will demonstrate how to create a range of materials and activities, such as books, alternative pencils, alphabet activities, word walls and sound awareness activities. Some of the most helpful PowerPoint tools will be demonstrated for adding color, animation, links, sounds, simplifying backgrounds and highlighting images. While these adaptations are useful for all students, these PowerPoint tools are particularly helpful for students with Cortical Vision Impairment who will be highlighted throughout.
