The Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act of 2014 has made it possible for individuals with disabilities to save money to pay for qualified expenses without being taxed on the earnings and without losing eligibility for most government benefits. It was enacted to encourage and assist individuals and families in saving private funds to supplement government benefits in supporting individuals with disabilities to maintain health, independence, and quality of life.
The presentation will explain what ABLE is, who is eligible, what investment options are available, what items funds can be used for, how it affects benefits, how to enroll and other related topics.

Our presenter is: Rosemary Laudani has been with the Treasurer's Office since 2015. She has had the pleasure in working in several divisions in the Treasurer's Office Banking, HR and Unclaimed Property prior to coming to ABLE.

For over 20 year Rosemary  has also been a passionate community organizer for a number of issues including ADA and the need for accessible resources for all and fair employment of disabled individuals.

Rosemary, is a graduate of Benedictine University, Lisle, IL, for both graduate, MBA, and undergraduate studies.  During her graduate studies, her emphasis was on economics and finance which included a yearlong sojourn to Cambridge University, Clare College.

Rosemary currently resides in the Springfield area.
