This workshop is for parents and adult family members who want to make a difference in the lives of children and families by serving as a member of a decision-making group. Participants will be able to identify opportunities to get involved in decision-making groups and will be able to differentiate between the types of groups that exist. Participants will be able to name the different processes that groups use and the tools needed to complete successful meetings. Parents will realize the importance of family input for decision-making bodies and how they can influence policy and practices in their communities and beyond.
